Headline: Amount of heat supplied up 4.7% in 2015
WIESBADEN – In 2015, roughly 157 terawatt hours (TWh) of heat were supplied by the network operators. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was a year-on-year increase of 4.7%. The main reason for the increase was the weather which was slightly colder than a year earlier when it was very mild. As a result, especially households required more heat. The most important energy sources for heat generation in 2015 were natural gas (41%), hard coal (24%) and waste (15%).
Basic data and long time series are available in table Net production of heat, fuel input, purchase of fuels, stock of fuels (43411-0001) in the GENESIS-Online database.
