Headline: Import prices in April 2017: +6.1% on April 2016

WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the index of import prices increased by 6.1% in April 2017 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In March 2017 and in February 2017 the annual rates of change were +6.1% and +7.4%, respectively. From March 2017 to April 2017 the index slightly fell by 0.1%.The index of import prices, excluding crude oil and mineral oil products, increased by 4.4% compared with the level of a year earlier.

The index of export prices increased by 2.6% in April 2017 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In March 2017 and in February 2017 the annual rates of change were +2.3% and +2.5%, respectively. From March 2017 to April 2017 the export price index rose by 0.2%.
