Headline: Marked decline in the use of fluorinated greenhouse gases in 2016

WIESBADEN – In 2016, German businesses used 8,974 tonnes of fluorocarbons (F-gases), which are classified as climate-relevant greenhouse gases. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that the quantity used was roughly 373 tonnes, or 4.0%, lower than the level recorded in 2015. Greenhouse gases contribute to climate change and have an impact on global warming. However, these substances do not affect the climate until they are released into the atmosphere. This is why the use of these substances is considered to have a potential impact on the climate. For further information:Hannelore Scherff, tel: +49 (0) 611 / 75 82 11,contact form
